How to analyze Yogas in Vedic Astrology – Part Five
This is in continuation of my previous articles on Yogas in Vedic Astrology.
Slokas 32, 33 and 34 of Phaladeepika speak of 66 Yogas (planetary combinations) which can be broadly divided into three categories viz Maha Yogas, Khal Yogas and Dainya Yogas.
These Yogas are based upon mutual placement of planets in zodiac/rashi of each other; and, the results are based upon the houses under consideration.
Maha Yogas in Horoscope | Vedic Astrology
Maha Yogas are auspicious in nature. There are 28 different types of Mahayogas which are said to bless the native with wealth, status, power and authority. It is mentioned that the native born in these MahaYogas may wear good clothes and ornaments; may receive recognition; may enjoy authority over many people; may have comforts of vehicle; and, he may also enjoy happiness from son. The actual results of a Maha Yoga may, however, depend upon many factors like the houses involved in creation of Maha yoga, nature of the planets generating the yoga, their respective disposition in Navamsha and operational planetary period.
