When will marriage happen? | Vedic Astrology Lessons

Apropos to my previous article about marriage and relationships; I am trying to share and explain my understandings and observations regarding timing of marriage. In Brihat Parashara Hora Shashtra (Chapter 20), some planetary combinations (Yogas) are mentioned about the marital age. However, exact identification of the marriage giving Dasa is not mentioned in BPHS. In tenth chapter of Phaladeepika though, Sage Mantreshawara has given some hints regarding the marriage time. In this article, I will try to explore and explain these Yogas for the benefit of the reader.

First, I will be taking a few verses mentioned in Chapter 20 of Brihat Parashara Hora Shashtra. The Venus is considered as general significator for wife and marriage in female horoscopes; while for female Horoscope, this role is assigned to Jupiter. Therefore, wherever the Sage mentioned the role of Venus as significator for wife and marriage – it is to be taken as Jupiter for female horoscope. Continue reading »

Marriage and relationships are the most important aspect of our life. Having a co-pilot in life is not only necessity but it does give a purpose to our life to make better aims. In Brihad Parashara Hora Shashtra, Sage Parashara has provided many combinations and planetary dispositions to be considered for judging a horoscope in this regard. In this article, I will try to offer my understanding of some of the planetary combinations related to marriage and relationships.

Rule One – Marriage and relationships: Chapter 20 of BPHS contains some basic planetary positions to be considered while analyzing a horoscope in terms of marriage and relationships. The first rule says that if the lord of seventh house placed in 6th, 8th or 12th house and is not in its own or exalted zodiac sign – it will cause the native’s wife to be sickly and suffering from disease. Apropos to the vedic astrology predictions already given for India horoscope:

At present, the last pratyantar of Rahu is operational in Sun/Jupiter Bhukti, and from 13 July 2012 onwards, the Antardasa of Saturn will start. The transit position of Mahadasa lord Sun is somewhat better in Gemini zodiac sign (second house of India’s Natal Chart). However, the transit position of Antardasa (sub-period) lord Jupiter is not much auspicious. Jupiter is still making an inauspicious union with Venus and debilitated Ketu; and it will be after 31 July 2012 that Venus will come out of the transit affliction of Jupiter and Ketu. Two major transit changes are going to take place during the month of May 2012 that is transit Jupiter will be changing its zodiac sign to Taurus (Vrishabha) from Aries (Mesha); and the transit Saturn will be transiting back to Virgo (Kanya) zodiac sign on temporary basis. Saturn will remain in Virgo zodiac (Kanya Rashi) for around three months, specifically from 16 May 2012 to 3 August 2012. The applicable Vimshottari Dasa on India’s horoscope is Sun/Jupiter Bhukti (24 September 2011 to 12 July 2012). And, this is based upon 15 August 1947 time 12:00:40 at Delhi. Wealth and finance have always been the focal point of human life, nevertheless, since past few decades the need has increased significantly. In earlier times, specifically in India, people didn’t require to struggle too much to ensure mere survival. Though, there were financial issues to the people, but yet things were not so much difficult as compared to current time. Today, we rarely find a day when no-one is died or collapsed due to financial constraints. And, the role of planets and houses in vedic astrology needs to be properly judged and adjusted accordingly so that one can address the specific financial aspects of a horoscope; and give meaningful guidance ( in place of feeding with useless junk comprising the information about how many Raj Yogas are present in the horoscope). It makes me feel sad and painful, when I see people struggling and suffering from financial issues. And despite vedic astrology being a very effective art/tool, the astrologers are not capable of addressing the issues effectively. In fact, it has become some kind of fashion of every one just jumping into Astrology without doing the proper homework and claiming their understanding of the Vedic scriptures. Star Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has not been selected in the ODI squad of Indian Cricket Team for upcoming ODI series in Australia. Three International Cricket Teams (India, Sri Lanka and Australia) will be participating in Commonwealth Bank Series 2012, scheduled to begin from 5 February 2012. And, the absence of Yuvraj Singh will be a massive blow for the Indian Cricket Team already struggling severely in current Test Cricket Series being played in Australia. The nature is the best guide or mentor, one can ever think of. The prime requirement is only to be in-line with the nature, which definitely requires a lot of hard-work, dedication, understanding and mentoring. While choosing the career for oneself, most of the times (99%), we fail to see and decide its suitability with inner self. Most of the times, the decisions are made either on the advice of other people; or done by copying and following others. For example, around 10 years ago, there was a flow of people blindly opting for MBA. Prior to that, it was Chartered Accountancy course and before that it was Law and judiciary sector attracting most of the youths. Around 7 years ago, there was a strong inclination in younger generation towards IIT. And, now there are so many, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Police Personals, MBAs and IITians facing severe issues in their professional stability and security.
