Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam is the part of the day (between Sunrise to Sunset) assigned to Demon Lord Rahu. In Brihad Parashara Hora Shashatra, Sage Parashara has described Rahu as an Outcaste who resides at abandoned places near anthills in forests. Rahu is further described as a horrible personality, wearing multicolor clothes and having smoke like body. Rahu is said to be intelligent and windy temperament.
Therefore, the specific part of the day ruled by Rahu i.e. Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam should be avoided for all auspicious matters of life. The auspicious and important matters like going out for a journey, business meetings, meeting with people, investments, joining new job, celebrations, fixing and solemnization of marriage etc. should be avoided during Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam.
Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam remains operational for around 90 minutes in a day. The general Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam for seven days of the week is given below. This is based upon Sunrise time being 6.00 AM and you can adjust the period of Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam as per your local Sunrise time.
|Day||Rahu Kaal Starting Time||Rahu Kaal Ending Time|
|Monday||07.30 AM||09.00 AM|
|Tuesday||03.00 PM||04.30 PM|
|Wednesday||12.00 PM||01.30 PM|
|Thursday||01.30 PM||03.00 PM|
|Friday||10.30 AM||12.00 PM|
|Saturday||09.00 AM||10.30 AM|
|Sunday||04.30 PM||06.00 PM|
Suppose, your local Sunrise time for Monday is 5.30 AM then 30 minutes should be subtracted from the given period of Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam i.e. Rahu Kaal will be operational from 7.00 AM to 8.30 AM on Monday.
Though, Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam is considered inauspicious for good things; some people consider Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam very positive for cruel things like filing for divorce, meeting with enemies and going out for disputes and debates.
